You are very lucky. They were definitely planning to totally take you down. They had apparently already release the press report, looking ahead to when (they thought) they would have your daughter in foster care. How long ago did this happen, and what state? I'm really curious. This has H$U$ written all over it, in my opinion. The bastards really took us right down to the wire.. cost a huge amount of money to defend against, two lazy lawyers who were always checking out the skirts and legs in the courtroom. I had to do most of the work to find witnesses, gather evidence, and prepare. They got $50,000, mostly for nothing but showing up in suits on the required days. One day they were not there at all, and we had to call them to come over.. That day, the prosecutor had said that the court date was cancelled, and my husband and I were suspicious.. showed up anyway to look at the docket, and saw our names on there. These bastards were trying to set us up for a re-arrest and jail without bail, on a "failure to appear" violation. They shuffled witnesses around, lied, tampered with evidence. But, you should see how freaky people get (jurors) when it's something to do with alleged abuse of an animal. People are idiots, you know? One guy got seated in the jury box and sat there giving me dirty looks, the whole time. We took a plea, and it was a good one.. We had a lot of evidence on our side. If we were uneasy, we didn't show it. You should have seen the young female prosecutor, falling apart, when she saw our witness / evidence list. Never let anyone tell you that any lawyer will do. There definitely is a difference. I believe ours were idiots. One had this big idea that he was going to get rid of the one felony charge, down the line, and didn't try to get rid of the misdemeanors, earlier. They ended up all being felony charges, and he led us right down the primrose lane. Another man, earlier, had been raising / keeping puppies in a really squalid condition in a stuffy, cluttered garage.. small cage, total zoning violation, no business license. We had all our licenses. That guy got a good attorney and beat all the charges.. we got screwed. I later spoke with that other attorney (the one we should have hired), and he was just a habitual winner.. never went into a courtroom to screw around or make deals. I learned by that. He was a winner, by his nature...won a lot of cases. It could have turned out a lot differently if we'd hired him in the beginning, but our idiot lawyers screwed our case up so bad in the early stages (when we might have been able to get it thrown out), and even he was appalled, when he saw how close we were to danger, and how little time and opportunity we had left to save our skins. The first time you see a police officer lie on the witness stand, it will rock your world. I used to believe in law enforcement and our criminal justice system. Now, I see what a tub of rot it really is. I think that realization hurt worse than anything else we had to go through or see, then or later. --- On Fri, 9/18/09, Cindy Denninger <racetrainingfarm@yahoo.com> wrote: From: Cindy Denninger <racetrainingfarm@yahoo.com> Subject: Re: dog_anti-rescue_anti-peta_new I got reported To: dog_anti-rescue_anti-peta_new@yahoogroups.com Date: Friday, September 18, 2009, 6:35 AM no you did the right thing. a history of harassment. codes can be fixed and no problem after that. the code officer will write code tickets for anything. i had this problem because i would not allow them entry onto my property. but after all was said and done they dont come around so offten. it used to be every 6m. now maybe a visit once a yr. and they dont even attempt to enter. but the first time they came with a herd of people trailers for the horses and the whole load of crap. why a horse was laying down in the pasture. and the uneducated humane investigator could not get him up. so not calling me he gets the troups out my daughter comes home from school at the time of the police and calls me out of work. so while all of this goes on the "sick, dying "horse gets up and is hanging out with his friends. when i get there i get the reason for the investigation there is a down horse. which made it a emergency. I look around and ask where the down horse is not seeing a down horse. the educated worker cant seem to find the horse and cant pick out the only gold horse from the herd of chestnuts, bays and white horses. now he wants to get permission to enter the property to check the horses . I in my dislike of the system inform them they need a warrant. so they get one and the reason is to take pictures. what a reason for a warrant. so now i get them to wait for my vet since the issue is suppose to be unhealthy animals and my vet does work for them (yet now he works for me i am paying him to come there) when he gets there 3 hrs later (they all hung out blocking the road) i bring the humane worker and his prodegy ( lady in high heals)on a nice journey around my muddy paddock (early spring) through the nice deep mud. (my vet has mud boots on. ) so they finally find a issue to complain about some piglets in the mud in a small paddock. they had shelter but the area they hang out was under water it was raining for a few days. they felt the pigs were abused since they were in deep water and did not have a place to play out of the water. but did have a trailer above the water but did have the straw muddy. so we solved the problem right in front of them we opened the paddock. hard to believe they went from kneedeep mud to a puddle that was deep enough to come up to the shoulder. lol. they were so cute. anyway we left them and not a peep about them again. I did lock them up later that day. so after the nice walk thru the muddiest part of my farm the worst we had here was a obese pig. and not even a diet was offered to save the fat lady pig. It is sad they did not get my nice horses to sell and make money for the humane society. but we did get zoning tickets since for you to know if they had a warrant they have to find a problem or you have the right to sue them for harassment. so they had to find something. i even had some of the photos taken for the warrant end up in the local paper about the abuse that was unfounded but in the article they stated my daughter was taken by child protection and that the house was unlivable but they could not confirm the animals were abused even with the muddy outside pictures of the poor pigs in the mud. but we had feces in the front yard. (ie it was a pasture) so the feces was in fact horse poop. so in a way they did not lie on that one. but the one about my daughter who at that time i would have given to child support teen yrs. and the electric which was the health issue was proved false by a expert in the field not some zoning clown. so these people have no clue on how farms or working with animals is done. so get your information together and get your experts ie even worth a trip to the vet for a health certificate. photos of the living conditions. place the extra animals on a temp basis. and be ready to show them they are fools. good luck--- On Fi, 9/18/09, Wakanska <wakanska2003@ yahoo.com> wrote: From: Wakanska <wakanska2003@ yahoo.com> Subject: Re: dog_anti-rescue_ anti-peta_ new I got reported To: dog_anti-rescue_ anti-peta_ new@yahoogroups. com Date: Friday, September 18, 2009, 8:08 AM I haven't said anything about it, but I'm kind of going through the same thing. Stupid "good person" neighbor complained about my dogs, saying she was concerned they weren't being cared for properly, and AC came out, wanted to see them. I didn't let them in.. I know better, now. The ACO threatened to get a warrant, and I told her to go ahead and get it.. I was busy. I went back to my business, and sure enough, she came back, not with a police officer, but with a code enforcement officer, who started citing me for everything he could find.. Then I was told, "See all the trouble you made for yourself"? LOL.. NO, actually, you should see the trouble that happened before, when I did foolishly let them in. That incident really ruined my life... certainly my retirement was destroyed. And the stupid cow of a police woman who started that problem ended up sueing the city over allegations of sex discrimination, and got cashed out for 1.4 million dollars.. It's a swell world, isn't it? --- On Thu, 9/17/09, mark garza <sirgarruovl@ yahoo.com> wrote: From: mark garza <sirgarruovl@ yahoo.com> Subject: Re: dog_anti-rescue_ anti-peta_ new I got reported To: dog_anti-rescue_ anti-peta_ new@yahoogroups. com Date: Thursday, September 17, 2009, 5:41 PM Carla, sorry to hear of your mis-fortune. .. do you have anyone who will take them til the heat blows over? If the guy is pretty cool you may not have anything to worry about. But I would make sure everything is clean, you have liscenses for the 5 and hide the others at a friends house...especially the ones with pups. So damn sad that we have to go through these kinds of things.. did he say when he was comming back? maybe another breeder in your area will help you out. I hope so... I know how you feel...my prayers are with you...kinda like living in Rusia or some comunist country....hmmmmm. God Bless! Last time was Feb 7, 2008....then some lady trying to re-home a cocker that was almost blind turned me in after I responded to her ad and then she found out I breed (the dog was spayed too) went nutso on me on craigslist and in emails..I knew she was gonna do this, and yep the AC showed up today.. I did not let him in but I did go and talk with him.... He was pretty anti- animal right freaks himself so we ended up talking about that and family we have fighting cancer.. I am not to worried about him unless the bitch reports me again.... I only have 4 over my limit of 5 but I have 1 litter I am selling right now and 3 more due and I am not 500% paranoid to allow "buyers" in.. Anyone have any ideas? I am considering just giving them all away (the pups already here at least)..I am terrified.. I cannot believe I am going through this again.. Karla | |
