Christmas

It was a wonderful Christmas! It started on Christmas Eve for us, as it has for years. We have the big family dinner and gifts at the parents' house, and then on Christmas I go with Mom and Dad to my siblings' places to visit more and see what's going on at their homes, what gifts they got, what their trees look like etc. Only I didn't go this year, because I was way too tired. But that's a skip ahead. Starting from the top now:

fAbout 3:45 or so on Christmas Eve, I was no longer the only kid at the parents' place. People arrived right up until dinner was ready at 5, and YUMMERS!!! Man it was good! Mmmmmmm! Yes, turkey, stuffing, potatoes, lots of gravy, and of course sprouts and cranberry sauce for those who wanted it.

Then some time later, we all went downstairs where the tree was to open presents.

I don't know what I did to impress Santa this year, but holy mackrel! My stocking was full up! I got this really comfy footware that's a pair of these sock/slipper thingies, they look like really thick socks and have some grip things on the bottom like my other pair of slippers. Mom bought those at Bath and Body when I was there with her, buying part of Anitra's Christmas Box gift. Hehe!

I also got a lipstick that's - I can't describe the flavor/fragrance. It's nice, though. :)

Some Starbucks instant coffees, some really neat hand warmers that are filled with some kind of liquid and a metal thing that feels about dime or penny size, that you snap, which releases something to cause a reaction. The liquid crystalizes turns quite solid, and the warmer, well, warms up. To reactivate them again, boil them in water, wrapped in some kind of cloth - I used one of Akina's carry/cage pouches (it was clean) the handiest way to make sure the warmer stayed protected as it boiled. And sure enough, once that was done, it was right back to its original state. I'd never seen those before, how neat! And so much better than the very first "hot shots" that came out many years ago, which could only be used once.

I also received a Terry's chocolate orange!

Did I miss anything? Hmmm? I think that about covers what was in my stocking. :)

In the Christmas Box, oh, man! A gift set of nice smelling bath jells, one of which is a sort of melony type, really neat - and lipsticks that make your lips a bit shiny but not too much - all of these are varieties of mint - one smells like a candy cane, another was almost a mint/vanilla or mint/white chocolate dealie, neat-o-rama! And the last was spearmint! Mmmm! And yes, they do taste good, too!

Also, a variety pack of hot chocolates! Yes! And that's not all! Also, a box of cookie dough, preformed, and they are good too! I made some last night, with the intention of bringing everybody I was going to visit, a little extra Christmas cheer. No, I didn't eat them all. Hehe! I was just too blinking tired after all was said and done to want to get up and go anywhere this morning.

But the big present I got, and in every sense of the word, was the miniature carousel I had seen over a year ago at Costco and really wanted, but didn't get last year. Mom found one this year and got it this time! Hehehehehehehehehe YES YES YES YES YES!!!

First of all, the box was HUGE! It looked like Cooper could fit inside it, it was large enough to pass for a foot-rest or even a stool, there could've been a small TV set inside, but that would've been considerably heavier. I needed help getting it open, and then help unwrapping and getting all the packing foam out. WOW! It is entirely possible as an adult to get just as excited about something you really wanted but had almost forgotten/given up on, and then you end up getting it - as if it happens when you're a kid!

I did go to my bro's Christmas Day for more turkey dinner, and that too, was good!

Christmas Carol was on, both Christmas Eve, and also Christmas Day, both times in the evening. I love that movie, and it has become my tradition every year to watch it. This year, I got two opportunities. :)

So, that's how it went.

Now, I should probably sign off and get some sleep.

Merry Christmas everyone!
