Law Enforcement are Not the Good Guys.

Well, you see, Cathy.. If you were a real criminal, you would know exactly how to deal with any kind of law enforcement officer. But you aren't, so you have to learn the rules of the game. The law enforcement officers are always looking for a way around the rules, and some of them develop quite a bag of tricks. They can lie to you, by the way, and there is nothing to protect you from that, according to a US Supreme Court ruling. Expect them to lie to you, and about you. It is permitted, and it is very, very common.

Animal control / humane agents and code enforcement are like the "twin evils", to me. Where they could be OK, addressing legitimate concerns, that doesn't end up being how things are. They are encouraged to pursue potential cases very aggressively. The end result that they want is fines and forfeitures. There is not enough money in the general budget anymore (from taxes, licenses, etc) to pay their salaries, administrative costs, retirements. The only way they can get it is to go after people for steep penalties. It's the same way for all of these agencies, now. They are expected to go out and make their own money, because taxes cannot be raised, anymore than they already are. Behind this also are the union (labor) bosses.. so called "public safety unions" such as police, firemen, paramedics, and the public employees such as garbage collectors, dog catchers, janitors. While they never enjoyed very prestigious appointments, before, they are many in number and can out-leverage the citizenry if they are organized and numerous enough. In Calfornia, we never had these problems, until that jerk Gov Jerry Brown signed a bill allowing public employees to leave the ranks of civil servants and join organized labor bargaining units. Now, we have hell to pay.. Thanks, Jerry!

The whole thing has not played out, yet.. waiting to see what happens. I'll keep you posted.

and AC came out, wanted to see them. I didn't let them in.. I know better, now. The ACO threatened to get a warrant, and I told her to go ahead and get it.. I was busy. I went back to my business, and sure enough, she came back, not with a police officer, but with a code enforcement officer, who started citing me for everything he could find.

Just wondering about when they came back,  did you allow them into your property and what is the difference between the code inforcement officer and A/C.  I know better than to ever allow anyone on my property but don't know what they can do without a warrant.

Thank you,

Mandatory spay and neuter means pets must grow old and die without replacements. No more babies, no more pets in our homes.  Stop it before it's nationwide. Sterile animals cannot replenish themselves. It's the "facts" of life.
