YES! Down With Dustin Ward Paxton!

They've arrested Dustin Ward Paxton, that inhuman piece of crap who tortured Dustin Lafortune for weeks!   Mr. Lafortune will leave the hospital soon and is recovering remarkably well considering the hell he went through.   Thank God!

Note to spammers: don't bother me with your male-related junk!

Lately these clueless idiots have been spamming me with email titled "Your wife photos"   Please!   1. I'm a girl! 2. I'm happily single! 3. So even if I was married, I wouldn't have a wife, morons! 4. Not everyone on the net is a male! 5. Shut it already!   Now that's out of the way, I'm going to be on my way to a birthday party. Catch you all later.

Resending: Some Relief

Apparently this didn't go through the first time, so trying again.

Well, at least my work sched will be on the way, and for that I'm glad.

Now if I could just get over the nerves brought on by what basically equals a couple of nights with nightmares - getting awakened by first that cat and then the train - that would be great! It feels exactly like the day after having particularly freaky nightmares. It'll sort out itself in time, but meanwhile, ugh.

Emails Vanishing In Cyberspace

It's very likely any number of emails sent to me over the weekend and up to late Monday have been lost in Cyberspace. With Shaw acting up on my end, and then my comp going down, even with forwarding incoming email to my Ipad during that time, it's been confirmed that I've missed at least two emails from a couple of different people. Probably more.   Just in case anyone tried to reach me and hasn't gotten a reply back, a FYI. :)   Technology - it's great, when it works.

More Worries From a “Working Group”

More Worries From a “Working Group”

Our ActivistCash.com database project explores the financial ties and radical relationships among animal rights, environmental, and “food police” organizations. It’s full of the dirty secrets that these activist groups with fuzzy names—from the ”Humane Society” of the United States to Greenpeace–don’t want the public to know. This week, we’ve updated our profile of an organization known as the Environmental Working Group (EWG). Anytime you read a scary newspaper headline warning you that your lipstick or water bottle might be secretly killing you, this Environmental “Worrying” Group’s name will probably turn up.

EWG has recently been attacking Vitamin A (we’re not joking) as a supposed cancer-causing agent. With scaremongering that silly (and reckless), it’s no surprise that 79 percent of members of the Society of Toxicology believe EWG overhypes the health risks of chemicals.

As we’re telling the media today:

The Environmental Working Group has perfected the art of duping science and health reporters. This is an organization that never met a food it couldn’t turn into a panicked newspaper headline. Not even vitamin A is safe from EWG’s poison pen.

The Environmental ‘Worrying’ Group’s regular assaults on common sense have made it one of the most error-prone activist organizations in America. But now consumers and the media have a one-stop shop for information that can help them fight back.

Head on over to ActivistCash and check out the new profile.

Case Of Nerves

Well, a couple of bad nights - that is, the other night some neighborhood cats woke me up with their screaming, and last night it was a uber loud train engine, and apparently I screech in my sleep as well. This morning I was at my comp, minding my own business when a train whistled, startling me yet again.   Ehh, not cool.   I'm surprised the phone hasn't rang and startled me as well, that's probably bound to happen. Gah, having a jumpy day or at least start to it.

Good To Be Back.

Well, that was a crummy several days, but I've recovered from the wasp (or it could've been a bee) sting, and my computer is back from repairs and working much better! I also have a great new anti-virus/malware program that does a good job, is accessible, and doesn't slow my computer down to barely a crawl when it scans and does its thing. :)   So, that's why there have been no entries, or very little from me lately. I can email via Ipad but it's tricky and much slower going.

Nailgun Hoax

Please don't pass around the phony prayer chain hoax about a boy who shot himself with a nailgun. Nothing in it can be verified and there are certainly some dishonest things going on here. http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/prayer/nailgun.asp

Bug Out

Well, it happened again!
No, really?
Unbelievably, but yes, it has!
Another stupid wasp sting!
Sheesh - can't even go walking around in one's house without getting stung by some freakin wasp!
I was innocently  having a wonderful time cranking the music and working out a bit, then went to toss something in the trash. On the way back, I stepped on a bit of something, and it was like - what the heck could I have dropped here? Was about to bend down and pick it up when *bzzzzzzt!* YOUWCH DAMMIT! It must've been a dying wasp. The thing was too stupid to get out of the way, and when my foot was right over top of it, it nailed me! Not quite as bad as the one I got in the arm earlier this year, probably just because the skin on the bottom of the foot is quite a bit tougher. Some swelling and more of an itch than actual pain now, but yes the initial sting HURT!
Okay, my good mood has just been turned to a general ticked off feeling - argh! I don't like these things, in fact, I officially hate wasps and wish they would leave me the !@#$ alone! They seriously make my skin crawl! How in the heck can one go most all of their life without one sting, and then within the past 2 or 3 years get that many, and two within a single year?
What did I do to deserve this? What!?

Ipods, Go Figure!

Well, earlier this summer, my niece's Ipod died, and then mysteriously came back to life. For no apparent reason.   Mine did exactly the same thing last night. It was fully charged, and I wanted to use it to make an Ipad demo video while the football game was on and it was such a wonderful evening out. I wanted some of the sounds from the game and the nice evening to be a fun setting for showing why Ipadding out on the back deck in the summer is so cool.   But - I took the Ipod off its charger, and it did nothing. It wouldn't turn off or on, and the computer didn't even recognize it when it was plugged in. Not through "My Computer" or through ITunes.   I remembered my niece's Ipod doing something similar, so just decided to leave mine off its charger, with the switch in the off position for about 24 hours and then check on it.   Sure enough, it started up tonight!   Heh!
