Why I Dislike Animal Pounds, SPCAs etc.
they've had plenty of personal experience with these animal pounds and seen
them in action. Also, since the 20/20 report on the animal-raiding SPCAs,
exposing the extent of how abusive these places are to animal owners and
potential owners... Many if not most/all animal pounds are in league with
hard core animal welfare extremist groups such as PEta and the HSUS (We call
them H$U$ they are the Humane Society of the US) But watch out for any
animal group calling itself "humane" because they are anything but toward
humanity and often toward animals as well.

The one here is viewed basicly as a dump. No one wants a dog take it to the
shelter. And depending on what it looks like they'll kill it before you get
out of town. Don't go in looking for a dog tho' - when I was looking for a
lost dog you'd think I was headed for a bank vault from the way I was
stopped and questioned.
Personally I have little to no use for shelters. Having lived several areas
in the US there's a common thread it seems and with H$U$ known to *not* be
about shelters but teaching them it's a first clue. The one in Santa Cruz CA
openly has animal rights brochures displayed and endangers the health of the
rabbits in their care.
Then there's the other animal rights shelter that sets up people to be
charged while their own shelter was operating in conditions that constituted
cruelty legally and was far worse than those they were prosecuting.
In another area in AZ I had a little room and some livestock so I approached
the shelter about testing the larger guardian dogs and/or border
collies/herding dogs at my time and expense to see about getting them homes.
They wouldn't let me even with an escort remove a dog to test it - and the
dogs were put to sleep as "unwanted".
One in OH blatantly misrepresents itself and conducts illegal raids with the
blessing of the court and the entire community, media and courts look the
other way. Unless you believe Nubian and LaMancha goats are the same
thing....they don't know the difference and it don't matter to the court.
IL - Animal shelter rep in harassment over several weeks about animals. She
wanted numbers of rabbits cut down (some were already sold pending shipping
to NY) - but when the majority left she started threatening obstruction
charges and to have me followed. She then demanded I treat my cat for a
respiratory problem (which it didn't have) or I'd be charged with failure to
provide vet care...and threatened to remove the dogs because even though
there was plenty of dog food it wasn't a good enough brand name and feeding
them meat would make them vicious. I took the cat to the vet who pronounced
her healthy and not a thing wrong with her, got a copy of that and sent it
to the state board...citing that she was practicing without a license to
demand I treat an animal that was healthy or have it removed. She was
reprimanded, told to stay away from me but still remains on the job. She's
animal RIGHTS and enforces it.
I'm sure there are good shelters somewhere that truly care about animals. In
the last 20 years I just haven't seen any.
