CT - Wild pet ban dies, state declares exotic animal amnesty

Thomas is absolutely right. It's time to stop treating pet ownership as a crime and time to tell the human-abusing anti-pet ownership people to mind their own business and stay the heck out of anyone else's.

Connecticut's laws were already too strict.  Travis was given a pass, rightly, because he was already there when the laws were passed.  The lesson here seems to be that the state doesn't really seem to care to use the already too strict laws to protect the right to legally own animals.

We can't give those people anything.  They take more than we give them and they go after the people who give them anything.  The law in Connecticut in 2003 was passed because Travis was disruptive, stopped traffic, and got out of the car and back in a few times.  Someone was being a jerk when they passed that law.  That crap is childish as well as sociopathic.  Society doesn't need that much protection against that little.

If there are going to be any legal controls at all of animal ownership, there should be nasty penalties involved if any locality, police or animal control does anything to violate the owner's rights.  Most if not all of the puppy mill raiders belong in jail.  There's an owner of a "sanctuary" in Texas who would be in jail for five hundred years or more if you stacked up the felonies that she's committed and she's on the anti-ownership side.  The same goes for that one in Florida.  The one thing that may entitle the law to do anything to anyone is the diligent practice of the protection of the rights of people who have committed no real crime.

Mandatory spay and neuter means pets must grow old and die without replacements. No more babies, no more pets in our homes.  Stop it before it's nationwide. Sterile animals cannot replenish themselves. It's the "facts" of life.
