Once again, Capri, you are right on the money.. --- On Fri, 9/25/09, Capri <SophieCapri@shaw.ca> wrote: From: Capri <SophieCapri@shaw.ca> Subject: Re: dog_anti-rescue_anti-peta_new A New Era of Animal Rights in Washington To: dog_anti-rescue_anti-peta_new@yahoogroups.com Date: Friday, September 25, 2009, 4:41 PM Yes, and in the mean-time, the left is doing everything they can to influence independents to support them, making sure to hide their own true intentions while trying to frighten the undecided listeners with lies and distortions about the right and even moderately right. One thing the left does over and over is harp on about how right-wingers pass on propaganda chain letters, and religious chain letters. The trouble is, a massive number of conservatives and Christians do exactly that. And I'm sure a fair number of these chain letters were actually designed by left-wingers, taking the most extreme as well as erroneous ideas that the right has adopted, and started them. Many right-wingers and Christians have bought into it and passed them along. So then on top of the left trying to tell everybody why they think the right is wrong on idiology alone, they now compound this with "Look at those silly right-wingers, passing on chain letters! Look at us, we don't do that!" Uh, not true. The left does pass on chain letters perpetuating their own propaganda. They just don't squawk about it since they're in agreement with it, and since it comes from the left, they take care not to call their press releases and emails "chain letters" but that is exactly what they are. And the right never complains about chain letters, not even when they come from the left. Well - this Christian and center/right moderate wants to change that. Likewise the right is stuck on right. The only voters that matter are the swing voters. They make the difference. And, they are the only ones who are really listening. If you cannot explain to them why they should vote conservative, you are really hosed. --- On Fri, 9/25/09, Wakanska <wakanska2003@ yahoo.com> wrote: From: Wakanska <wakanska2003@ yahoo.com> Subject: Re: dog_anti-rescue_ anti-peta_ new A New Era of Animal Rights in Washington To: dog_anti-rescue_ anti-peta_ new@yahoogroups. com Date: Friday, September 25, 2009, 4:11 PM I've only lately really begun to post, again. I just shut up for a long time, because I could see the partisan political shift in the USA, and I had a good guess as to what was to follow. Now, here we are, and I am going to rub everyone's nose in it. Yup.. That's my only sad satisfaction, now. I openly wished that I was wrong, but I was not wrong.. I was right on the money. --- On Fri, 9/25/09, Wakanska <wakanska2003@ yahoo.com> wrote: From: Wakanska <wakanska2003@ yahoo.com> Subject: Re: dog_anti-rescue_ anti-peta_ new A New Era of Animal Rights in Washington To: dog_anti-rescue_ anti-peta_ new@yahoogroups. com Date: Friday, September 25, 2009, 4:05 PM Oh, but let's not make animals a partisan political fight, OK? We don't want to estrange anyone on the left, do we? LOL (shaking head, sadly).. I HATE TO SAY "I TOLD YOU", BUT, HEY.. "I TOLD YOU!!!!" I hope you all enjoy your tofu burgers and overpriced beef, dairy, eggs, poultry, fish. I just hope we can manage to hang onto our purebred dogs, but it's anything goes, now. Our only real hope is that when all the fruits of this are tasted and found too bitter to eat, that people will turn against the socialist Democrats for the next 20 years. --- On Fri, 9/25/09, Elizabeth Brinkley <elizabeth@dantekenn els.com> wrote: From: Elizabeth Brinkley <elizabeth@dantekenn els.com> Subject: dog_anti-rescue_ anti-peta_ new A New Era of Animal Rights in Washington To: "Sheltie old lines" <sheltieoldlines@ yahoogroups. com>, breederlawsandethic s@yahoogroups. com, BreederOwnerHandler @yahoogroups. com, "W. Cass Sunstein, just confirmed as an Obama regulatory czar, has argued for more animal rights and new hunting regulations. The president has taken note of farming's impact on animals. And Bruce Friedrich, VP of policy and government affairs for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals in Washington, has hit the road to debate veganism on America's college campuses. "It's about convincing the nation's best and brightest to take concern for animals seriously," says Friedrich, who scored points at Harvard this week and plans stops soon at the University of Pennsylvania, Penn State, and Brown. The 1991 Grinnell College grad says of the new era: "In an array of ways, the Obama administration is better for animals than any previous administration, though we do, of course, have a very long way to go. . |
